for ABANDONED
Abandoned
by Lupe Bloch is a good read-so good I’ve read it twice. The
author has the ability to make her characters come alive. I really
cared about the events surrounding Elena and her daughter Maria.
I found myself cheering them on, hoping they would overcome the
hardships and challenges life present them. Bravo to Ms. Bloch.
I look forward to her next book.

Lupe
has a fresh, unique voice and has captured the time period and sense
of place so well. Carlota is a wonderful, warm character and a perfect
surrogate mother for Maria and so much a part of Maria’s story.
Watching Maria become strong and independent was a delightful journey
I loved sharing with her. I’m glad I was finally able to like
Johnny…I didn’t at first. I loved the last scene of
Juanito walking out with his little boots.

Abandoned
is such a great story. I can’t wait for the sequel where Juanito
is grown up. I loved the characters. Carlota and Manuel are quite
a pair.

Mom’s

Her novel is a great read and one you just can’t put down.

Exciting
...fascinating. The author titled this book most appropriately.
She spins a tale that becomes so intriguing. I couldn’t put
it down.

I took
the book, Abandoned, away from my wife so I could read it on a plane
trip back East. I started reading it and could not stop until I
finished it. Good story and very enjoyable.
